Are your students already tired of exam tasks?
I have a great solution for you – a set of 50 topics perfect for review!
The set includes a presentation with 50 topics. For each topic, I’ve added four guiding questions to help students if they run out of ideas for their speech.
The first 20 topics are simple ideas for weaker students, while the next 30 topics are slightly more challenging.
Additionally, I’ve included printable topic cards – they contain only the topics and can be a great tool for lesson warm-ups or group work.
How to use this material?
Here are my suggestions 😊
🔹 Idea #1
The teacher displays a topic along with the guiding questions. The group works together to decide what they want to say about the topic – they can write down keywords but not full sentences. After a set time, one person from the group presents the topic for one minute (this time can be adjusted based on the group level).
🔹 Idea #2
The teacher displays the topic on the board. Each student prepares their speech individually. Then, they take turns presenting, while the rest of the group times their speeches. The student who speaks the longest wins.
🔹 Idea #3 (for selected topics)
The class is divided into two groups: for and against a given topic. Each group prepares arguments and counterarguments. Students present their stance and then respond to their opponents’ points.
🔹 Idea #4
Each student chooses a topic and prepares a short speech (1–3 minutes). They can use notes, slides, or props, but reading from a paper is not allowed. After the presentation, other students can ask the speaker questions.
🔹 Idea #5
One student plays the role of a journalist, and another acts as the interviewee. The journalist prepares a list of questions related to the topic and conducts an interview. Then, they switch roles.
I hope this material encourages your students to speak and use the vocabulary they’ve learned. It can also be useful for high school students.
Highly recommended! 😊
